Gmail doesn't load

Gmail acct doesn't load.

Google says Change Browser ID, Clear cookies , or clear cache.
To clear cookies or cache need Edit -> Preferences SubMenu.
I DON'T HAVE Preferences Submenu in my Konqueror.

Tried Browsers Mozilla, Firefox, Netscape

Unable / Don't know how to install windows IE under Wine

Something more basic that is missing / corrupted or ?

Currently I have NO Email working except kdebase

GMail is known to work nicely with these browsers on Linux:

# Firefox 0.8+
# Netscape 7.1+
# Mozilla 1.4+

I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.11 on Ubuntu 7.10 -- GMail is working fine.

Which version of Firefox and Netscape did you try?

Konqueror settings can be found at Settings -> Configure Konqueror -> Browser Identification

Tried:

Clearing cache & Cookies

Browsers: Mozilla 1.7.3, Netscape 7.1, Firefox 1.5.0.4, Firefox 1.5.0.4

Gmail Still does not load.

Also getting (after a delay of ~ 30 secs) google message:
"Connection to host mail.google.com is broken" .
