problem with wine

Asked by always lost

I installed wine so that I could get usb2 drivers for the printer to work. Wine doesn't work. How is it configured and is there any extra things to install to make it work. I can't find usb2 drivers for linux anywhere, except ".tar" that won't install. Any clues? The wine notice says ' No application suitable for automatic installation is available for handling this kind or file'.

I dont think installing the drivers in wine will make them work. Wine is only a windows emulator for programs.
That .tar package is similar to .zip. Its a compressed folder. You need to unpack it and install the driver from there. There should be a README file inside that will tell you how to install it, or you can ask. I am not familiar with the installation of drivers myself.
