Locked - Adept Manager
Hi:
I just tried to update my new install to play MP3 files.
I ran the Adept Manager, selected like 5 programs to install.
It locked up on one load, I had to hardboot the computer.
Now, when I launch the Adept Manager to install ANY software, I get the following error:
You will not be able to change your system settings in any way (install, remove or upgrade software), because another process is using the packaging system database (probably some other Adept application or apt-get or aptitude). Please close the other application before using this one.
So, how do I get out of this loop. I have nothing running.
I have deleted temp files, looked at running programs, NOTHING seems to meet this criteria.
DO I have to reinstall KUBUNTU or what?
No more software upgrades really limits my testing.
-Bill
(Thinking about a full conversion to KUBUNTU and away from WIN-XP SP2)

i had the same problem just bit late on sumbiting my answer. i did some reaserching try this
Reinstalling Adept will not fix it. Try this command in Konsole:
sudo dpkg --configure -a
if that doesn't work
sudo apt-get -f install
(thanks to jucato)
