The window doesnt fill my whole screen how do i fix it my resolution is at 1024x768 60 hz wont let me change i just want to be able to use whole screen if i can get help it would be awesome thanks

system > preferences> screen resolution

if you use kubuntu go to system settings under the kmenu choosec monitor and display ns set the resolution.
If it dosen't works u will probably have to edit your xorg.conf file.
