if you STILL use kicker (kde 4 uses PLASMA, not kicker)

you can press ALT+F2
type: kicker
Press enter

if you are using KDE4 then do the same but with the command:

plasma

Will do the same.

then press ALT+F2

try this:

kquitapp plasma && rm ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma*
