Cannot change position of widgets on KDE 4.2.2 panel

Asked by Greg

After FlightGear hung I had to do a ctrl alt f1 to get out of KDE then a ctrl alt del to do a reboot. When I logged back into KDE the sytem tray and clock widgets had swapped positions. There seems to be no way to move them with the mouse, even when i have unlocked panel widgets. I then removed the whole panel and then right clicked on the desktop then clicked add panel. The new panel was empty with no default widgets so I started adding widgets by right clicking on the panel where I wanted to add them. The first one was the digital clock it added itself at the middle of the panel. I then added the system menu but it added itself just to the right of the clock. All other wigets like the desktop pager are in positions that I don't want. How can I position them?

The problem is solved now. I have done a google search and found someone describing the nonintuitive way of the KDE 4.2.2 panel or kicker. Also the difficulty of even trying to right click on it for changing its settings. He is right, but you have to try and right click to bring up the settings just to drag the widgets. Alright its solved now.
