What does the library libknewstuff3-4 do?

Asked by Vej on 2017-05-18

Hello everyone!

I discovered today, that I can get a update for the library libknewstuff3-4 which sounded suspicious to me. According to http://packages.ubuntu.com/yakkety/libknewstuff3-4 it is indeed an official package which gives me "Hot New Stuff".

Now I am asking myself (and you) what the heck does that mean? What does this library do?

Best Regards

Vej

Hello Bashing-om,

thanks for your answer. That command was very helpfull to me. It gives

> Description: "Get Hot New Stuff" v3 Library for the KDE Platform
> The KNewStuff3 ("Get Hot New Stuff" v3) library adds data sharing
> capabilities to the KDE Applications. It uses libattica to access Open
> Collaboration Services providers. In addition the static XML from GHNS is

Thank you very much
