Zesty is prerelease so things will be missing or have issues. If you are interested in reporting issues to get Zesty ready for release in April then by all means use it.

If you want an OS that works as expected then I suggest you wipe Zesty off and do a clean install of Xenial. Xenial is LTS and supported til April 2021. Far longer than Zesty.

If you can detail what you want to do with GRUB, maybe we can advise

If you look at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kcm-grub2 you see that kcm-grub2 did not exist for xenial and yakkety any more, So you cannot expect it to be available for zesty.

Hello and thanks to your answers.

Since years, I am testing development versions of Kubuntu. I will do that for Zesty up to its release in April.

In the past, I used kde-config-grub2 to tune my GRUB2 configuration with a Kubuntu development version, a stable one and a LTS one.
I would like to do today. But I discover that this tool wasn't release since xenial. I don't know why this tool is no more available.
I would prefer to use it because in the ubuntu repository and not a similar tool as grub-customizer not part of KUbuntu.

Is there a reason not leave the development of this very useful tool, safer than playing manually with Grub configuration.

Cheers. Xavier

It's been removed. You will need to find an alternative.

What do you want to do with GRUB and we may be able to advise how to do what you want without the package

The justification is "Reason: needs porting to kf5"
I assume that means kde framework 5

Apparently nobody has reworked that package to work with kde framework 5 yet. If you want to have this package on zesty, you are invited to do that task.

Can you help with this problem?
