if you launch kamefu from a terminal, then try launching a rom, does it show any error messages in the terminal?

If you have Samba-client then Windows files are easy to read - and it's pretty standard in Ubuntu.

Find a terminal console (equivalent of a Command Console in Windows) in
Applications menu at the top taskbar - Accessories - Terminal

ok here is my deal . i have ubuntu ported to my ps3. thus there is no i386 for a somba client ! at least i dont think so??!!?? and as far as my problem kamefu will run it just wont launch my roms any roms. nes, snes, genises, mame.ect it doesnt display any error message it just wont load the roms. im having the same trouble with kxmame sort of see when i try to boot up kxmame it crashes when it starts to try to load my gamelist. i believe this is because the roms folder for kxmame is in system files and wont let me copy my roms to the rom folder it doesnt give the option to paste files there .so it must be locked out. oh and as far as gxmame it wont work with ubuntu 8.10 so im out of luck in that area. so you can see ive done some research here .but have found no solution???
