k3b still complains about cdrecord not being suid root

Asked by Scott Beamer

I'm running k3b 1.01 in Ubuntu Gutsy.

Upon initial startup I got the above mentioned warning.

There is nothing in the help file on the subject.

And a Google search yielded varying opinions on the subject. The one that caught my attention is that one need not worry about this if one is in the "cdrom" group (which I am). And the CD I subsequently burned was fine.

My question is...

Should I file a bug report or should I have done something about the cdrecord "problem"?

Just change the suid bit and it should work:

chmod 4711 /usr/bin/cdrecord

Can you help with this problem?
