K3b cdparanoia error

Asked by Charles Hill

Trying to rip an Audio CD ends quickly with the error "Could not load libcdparanoia". libcdparanoia0 is installed. I can manually rip the (12-track) disc using "cdparanoia -B -- -12".

System
-----------------------
K3b Version: 20.12.3
KDE Version: 5.79.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel: 5.11.0-22-generic

Running from Konsole gets me more debug output and shows:

connecting
"/dev/sr0"
kernel version: "5.11.0-22-generic"
(K3b::CdparanoiaLib) Error: could not resolve 'paranoia_init'
(K3b::CdparanoiaLib) Error: could not resolve all symbols!
"Extracting Digital Audio"
"/dev/sr0"
received finished signal!

I can't believe it. I didn't know I'd hear such a great story. Wow, it's so thrilling. I feel like I'm going on a huge adventure. It's really like that
