Since you're doing a backup from a DVD 9 to a double layer DVD (DVD 9 also) you can just copy it directly using for instance gnomebaker (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GnomeBaker).
The application is pretty intuitive and easy to use.
Try it and just post some feedback.
