RE: CREATING MP3-CD

Asked by thgang

Hi guys,

I have been using Xubuntu for a while and I really like it. I've come across a few problems and this is one of them: how can you create a MP3-CD and what application do you need. I've searched all the questions and nobody else has seemed to stumble upon that problem as yet or just haven't asked!!

I've tried K3B and Serpentine but they do not support MP3-CD, just a normal Audio-CD burn project.

Any help would be great,

Cheers,
Tadeh

you just have to burn a standard data-cd ( for example with k3b) where your data are the MP3s.

hope that helps...

Thanks for getting back to me, I tried to burn onto a CD-R using the standard data CD project, and I inserted it into an MP3 CD player (or I hope it is) but it didn't work. Could it be that I had an assortment of folders bearing MP3's inside them (burnt on the CD) that was the problem- as all MP3's need to be together without any folders, or is it that I might not have an MP3-CD capable player.

You may have an MP3-CD player with issues.
Try to burn a data disk with ISO9660 filesystem. It must be closed (no multisession). Place one file called "song.mp3" and ensure that it is constant bitrate of 128kbit/s. If it cannot play this, than you have an ordianary player, not MP3-CD one.

Can you help with this problem?
