john the ripper outputs " fopen: john.ini: No such file or directory"

Asked by Shashank M Shanbhag

On giving the command "john" in the terminal john the ripper help file should be displayed on the terminal. Instead john outputs
" fopen: john.ini: No such file or directory". How can I fix this bug ?

Try to do that for repair your problem :

sudo wget https://github.com/magnumripper/JohnTheRipper/raw/bleeding-jumbo/run/john.conf -O /etc/john/
