What is holding back release of jitsi into 16.04?

Would somebody be able to tell me why Jitsi is missing from 16.04 whilst it was available in 14.04?
And if nothing is holding it back, when will it be released?
Skype is rather a mess and has a blue flickering issue on my new notebook. Jitsi is the perfect alternative (currently using the web version at meet.jit.si to video call with my girlfriend until I can use the client via the official repository).
