Why is jikes not avaliable in karmic repository?

Asked by Patrick Brueckner

I was just trying to install jikes on my 9.10 installation and it says there is no installation candidate avaliable.
Is there a reason that jikes was removed from the archives?

Are you talking of:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/jikes/
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/jikes

With this terminal command:

aptitude search jikes

i get:

jikes-classpath - clean room standard Java libraries - wrapper for jikes

I don't think is the real package so
please fill a bug from here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/jikes/+filebug

jikes != jikes-classpath

jikes-classpath is actually a wrapper, that depends on jikes.
