In FireFox go up to the "Edit" menu and go to "Preferences". in the "Contents" tab/button make sure that both "Enable Javascript" and "Enable Java" are both ticked. It might be worth clicking on the button beside and have a look around.

Good luck with this

So I tried that and it still doesn't work......when I try to play games it says:

This game cannot be played using your current settings. Please, try the following:

    * Check to make sure that java is enabled in your browser. (learn more)
    * If you do not have java installed you may download it here.

When you say you tried that i'm going to asssume that both those boxes are now ticked. Try going up to the top taskbar and click on

System - Administration - Synaptic Package Manager

it'll ask for your user password, not your SuperUser/Root one. Now use the searc tools to loo for and install adobe flash player also "gnash" should be good. If this doesn't help then try downloading the deb from
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/?promoid=BUIGP
just under the big button on that page is a drop-down menu, select Ubuntu from the end of that list.

Good luck and regards from

I have bee trying to resolve this issue for a couple months too.
I have Firefox 3.6.13, but don't have two boxes in the preferences screen. I only have "enable Javascript", not the Enable Java button. Is there something I need to do to add it to Firefox?
I tried all the other suggestions, but Yahoo Games still doesn't work.

It is worth working through the Medibuntu page again
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu
As that often sorts more than just multimedia problems.

Then, in FireFox go up to the "Edit" menu and go to "Preferences". in the "Contents" tab/button make sure that both "Enable Javascript" and "Enable Java" are both ticked. It might be worth clicking on the button beside and have a look around.
