Minecraft spins hardrive on Ubuntu 12.04

Anyone have any thoughts on why Minecraft would cause the hardrive on a Dell XPS 400 to spin so much? This is the only application where I have this issue.

You can try Oracle Java with:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/java
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install oracle-java7-installer
