jack server won't run either

Hi,

I also have a jackd server problem.

When i try to start the jackd server from the terminal i get this output

dave@dave-desktop:~$ jackd -R -d alsa
no message buffer overruns

cannot create engine

jackd has never worked for me and i am new to linux so any help would be greatly appreciated, it is holding back my music production!

what i can recommend is to install qjackctl and use this as control-station for jack. You can install it via synaptic (and add/remove ? not sure). After installation there will be an extra entry in your entertainment submenu ;)

i installed qjackctl and when i tried to start the server the following was printed in the message window:
