Connect iso-3166-2 to kgeography?

Asked by Roger Sperberg

In rough numbers, iso-3166-2 contains the names of administrative subdivisions for 150 countries.

The kgeography file mostly has capitals, flags and countries, but it also contains administrative subdivisions for ten or twelve countries -- Germany, France, Italy, Brazil, Poland, the Netherlands, Norway, the U.S. are ones I can remember off the top of my head.

How does one get the translations that already exist for kgeography to be suggestions for iso-3166-2?

Second question -- for some of these, the English entry isn't identical. For instance, the Brazilian state of Bahia is spelled Bahia in kgeography and Baia in iso-3166-2 (which should really be Baía). And kgeography uses Rio de Janeiro State while iso-3166-2 just uses Rio de Janeiro (and since it doesn't display city names, there shouldn't be any confusion between the state and city, in that program). How does one connect one of these specific messages to the other, for future reference?

Thanks,

Roger Sperberg

I don't think there is a general way to do either of them.

Maybe you should get the appropriate .po files and use copy-paste.
On the other hand if you think that some oroginal Engilsh entry isn't appropriate you might consider reporting it as a bug.

Can you help with this problem?
