Support file problem

Asked by Dan Field

I followed the installation directions but messed up when I entered the location for the support file. The installation completed without it, but doesn't actually work without it. I uninstalled the package with sudo apt autoremove isight-firmware-tools and then repeated sudo apt-get install isight-firmware-tools and everything proceeded without it asking for the support file the second time. How do I get it to ask for the file again so it can install properly? Thanks in advance.

Try the command

sudo dpkg-reconfigure isight-firmware-tools

That did the trick! It gave me the opportunity to reenter the file location. The problem was that I had entered the path, but it needed the full path name (including the file name). After a reboot, the camera now works! Thanks!
