You'd have found it by searching in software centre

You don't need root access for any of this.

Are you using a desktop OS (with a mouse pointer etc)?

Hardy is no longer supported on the desktop, it is only supported on server now. I suggest you upgrade to at least Lucid.

Adeel shahzad, you forgot an 'e' after iozon in iozone3 in the command given to you by actionparsnip.
