Why do you think that intel-microcode package v. 20171117 is hidden?

On https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/intel-microcode you can see that up to now it has been packaged for the upcoming 18.04 release of Ubuntu.

There currently is work done on version 20171215 (also in the development version only) to partially address CVE-2017-5715.

I expect that 20171215 will be rolled out also for older Ubuntu releases in due course, omitting the need for 20171117.

Hello,

Thank you for your very quick answer. I found the latest version here:

https://debian.pkgs.org/sid/debian-nonfree-amd64/intel-microcode_3.20171215.1_amd64.deb.html

I hope you will quickly deploy it.

Best regards.

When can we expect the release of the update intel-microcode package?

As an emergency response to the recently published vulnerabilities, the Launchpad build farm has been temporarily disabled.
see e.g. https://answers.launchpad.net/launchpad/+question/662545 and https://twitter.com/launchpadstatus

Due to that no expected dates can be given.

The Launchpad build farm has been re-activated (with limitations).
The newest version intel-microcode 3.20180108.1 has meanwhile been built for bionic.
I assume the other Ubuntu releases will follow in due course.

Can you help with this problem?
