update to version 1

Or if you want to use the new version, do this:
1. Go to instantbird site:
http://instantbird.com/

2. Click the download button
3. When download was completed, just extract him, enter the folder and start the file named instantbird.

I know that but i want it installed true synaptic so it is integraded in the system. now i have to go to the folder, klick instantbird, klick run. i can't get this on the unity launchbar etc.

I haven't found any PPA with instantbird 1. In my opinion you should use the version downloaded on internet. You can also create a .desktop file for add it to unity launcher. For do this:

1. Extract the tar.bz2 file that you've downloaded
2. Open gedit and create a file like this:

[Desktop Entry]
Name=Instantbird
GenericName=Instantbird
Comment=Instant messaging client
Exec=/home/enry/instantbird/instantbird
Icon=/home/enry/instantbird/icons/mozicon128.png
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Categories=Network;InstantMessaging;

You must save it on instantbird folder. You must also change the Exec and Icon with the path of your instantbird folder.
For example, if your user is mark and you have it on your home folder, you will have a file like this:

[Desktop Entry]
Name=Instantbird
GenericName=Instantbird
Comment=Instant messaging client
Exec=/home/mark/instantbird/instantbird
Icon=/home/mark/instantbird/icons/mozicon128.png

3. When you've done, save the file with name instantbird.desktop and drag and drop it on the unity launcher.

ok, you are right no ppa but a ubuntu package.

what you suggest is a good workaround and i did that. but still i am hoping i get a auto update on the ubuntu version

I?m sorry but I haven't found anything. I haven't found PPA or DEB. I think that my suggestion is the best way to use it now.
