Nobody will emauil you, the address you registered on the forums will get an automatically generated email, so don't sweat the email address. All correspondances will occur HERE.

What is "it"? What did you try to install. You never specify what "it" is...

i combined repairing broken packages https://ubuntugenius.wordpress.com/2011/01/25/ubuntu-not-booting-try-repairing-broken-packages-in-recovery-mode/

with the 10.04 fix http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how-to-fix-ubuntu-10-04-lts-lucid-blank-screen-at-startup.html

and now i no longer have the problem With ubuntu!
So see if it works for you

the only problem is with the 10.04 fix is I have to do these steps ( below ) every time i turn on ubuntu not just the first boot after install ( but its better than not being able to get in at all )

* On first boot after install, press e on getting the GRUB bootloader.
* Using arrow keys navigate to and delete quiet and splash and type the word nomodeset in their place
* Press Ctrl and X to boot

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2#Configuring%20GRUB%202 GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"
Run "gksudo gedit /etc/default/grub.d", update line GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT, then run "sudo update-grub" and reboot.

If the other methods don't work for you, I also found a trick that might help.

As soon as you click Ubuntu, repeatedly hit the f1 key till you get a blinking dash, then stop hitting f1 and then Ubuntu should start up normally.
