I want to create a ladybug. How do I put black dots on top of red fill?

Asked by Missy

I want to create a ladybug. How do I put black dots on top of red fill? I can't seem to have a color AND a pattern (such as large dots) together without one or the other disappearing.

I assume your question is about some Ubuntu program, perhaps Gimp. You filed your question for Launchpad, the website used to coordinate the Ubuntu development and we (the Launchpad developers) don't have much knowledge about graphical applications, so I'm reassigning it to Ubuntu. It would be fine if you could tell us which program you are using.

Hi Abel,

Thank you for responding. The program is Inkscape.

Hi :)

I tried what you were asking and it didn't seem to create any troubles for me. Did you change the brush type and colour? Errr, does this website have anything useful? i noticed they had tutorials there?

http://www.inkscape.org/

Can you save the picture in a format that Gimp can use and add the spots in there and then open the picture in Inkscape again? If so then i would guess there must be a way around the problem
Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
