Inkscape crashes with "terminate called after throwing an instance of 'Gtk::IconThemeError' "

Asked by Dominik Steenken

The title says it all. Inkscape crashes whenever i attempt to open the document properties tab. there seem to be more problems though, like the little arrows on the scales at the edge of the window not being redrawn properly.

Version is Inkscape 0.48.0 r9654 (Sep 20 2010)
Ubuntu Version is 10.10

so apparently i don't have the proper debugging symbols installed. I couldn't find the correct package for that, though. The bug seems to be unknown in the inkscape community so i am guessing that it's some kind of packaging issue (like missing icons).

This is a known bug, which has been passed on to the developers. Please take a look at bug #658055 for more details.

Also, Ubuntu debugging symbols aren't made available by default. You can get them by following the instructions at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash

Thanks
