Problem with Inkblot and my Epson Stylus D92 Printer

Asked by David Hockley

Hi all, I have a problem with Inkblot, I installed it to keep an eye on my ink levels for my Epson Stylus D92, which I know is supported, it's in the documentation on their website!
However, when I load it up, it tells me my printer is not supported and to check the connections... The connections are all fine since I had just printed a document.
All I want to do really is check the ink levels in my printer!
Thanks in advance

Inkblot use libinklevel

So from the libinklevel homepage:

http://libinklevel.sourceforge.net/#installation

Users of programs which make use of libinklevel need read/write permission on the device the printer is connected to. For parallel port printers this is /dev/parport[portnumber] and /dev/lp[portnumber], for usb printers this is /dev/usb/lp[portnumber] or /dev/usblp[portnumber].

Hope this helps
