Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 is also not responding in initrd/initramfs phase in Ubuntu 14.04.

I've added:

hid
usbhid
hid_generic
ohci_pci

to

 /etc/initramfs-tools/modules

and did update-initramfs -u

It did NOT help.
