no battery status indicator ubuntu 12.04

i am new to this system power statistics package is installed but i do not see battery status icon on upper panel, there are no options.

I think you're talking about the power indicator in the indicator applet of the panel.
Yep. Same here.

On my system, when I change the System Settings for the display of this indicator, the setting does not hold: the pop-down menu always shows gray.

Can you help with this problem?
