connection info not showing after upgrading to 11.04

I used to see my wireless connection info when hovering the mouse over the network icon in the panel (Maverick). After upgrading to 11.04 this no longer pops up, volume also. How do I change/restore the behavior of these indicators?

I just went back to classic view and they arrived! No connection percentage indicated any more on mouse over but that is a small price to pay. Are you using classic or the new weird unity stuff?

I am using the classic view. I guess it just doesn't do it anymore, too bad.
