evolution has dissapeared from indicator

for one reason or another i uninstalled evolution and re-installed it, the mail icon in the panel is still there however only the chat option is available from the dropdown menu and there is no indication of new mail etc. any ideas?

When you remove evolution it tells you which packages will get removed, did you check if all packages have been installed again?
Are indicator-applet, indicator-messages, evolution-indicator installed?

In order to see all the different indicators you need to add notification area to panel.
Right click empty space -> add to panel

Please also take a look into
system preferences -> startup apps
if evolution alarm notification is enabled.

In case reboot.

Thanks Sam, it was the evolution-indicator that wasnt installed. Much appreciated.
