Can't get the indicator-sound icon back in the notification area on the panel

Asked by Scorpio

Hello, I am with Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid. Recently I removed the indicator-sound and indicator-messages applets from the panel and I can't add them back again. How can I do that ?

Right click on the panel, »Add To Panel« and then add »Indicator Applet« and maybe »Notification Area« as well. (I don’t use indicator-messages.)

Thank you Mr. Borchardt, that solved the problem.

I knew that this is the usual way to add applets to the panel, but when I read the description under "Indicator Applet" - "An indicator of something that needs your attention on the desktop" I never thought this is what I'm looking for :D

I already assumed that you know, the description is quite confusing. ;)

All the indicators are currently being reworked → see the MeMenu etc.

Forget to mention that indicator-messages appeared back with the indicator-sound too. Just still can't get the clue how to make it inform me when new mail arrives in my google.com account and I use mail-notification instead. But this is kinda offtopic here I know.

You want to put GMail in your messaging menu? Try:
