update imdb-tools

tried updating my mythbuntu 10.10s imdb-tools from package on ubuntu site but fails with,..

current,.. IMDB Tools Version 0.8
want to get 0.9-1

The file is not a debian package, it will most likely be source files for you to compile.

You could use the natty deb but it may make abig frankenstin OS due to many deps:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/ca/natty/utils/imdb-tools

Or you can compile your source

not ALL linux files can be used with the packae system and the method to install a lcal deb file is;

sudo dpkg -i filename.deb
