Input reverting to Korean using ibus-hangul 1.5.0-1

Asked by Jacob Park

I find it useful that I can switch between Korean and Latin input using ibus-hangul 1.5.0-1 without having to change the IM engine. I noticed, however, that even after I have switched to Latin input (within the Korean IM engine), if I move to another text box (whether by clicking in the other box or by pressing the tab key) OR if I click somewhere outside the original text box and click back in the original text box, the input is reverted to Korean (I DO have the "Share the same input method among all applications" unticked, but this happens within the same application). I have "Start in hangul mode" ticked, but even when I untick it, the same thing happens for Latin alphabets (that is, even after I have switched to Korean input, moving to another textbox or clicking somewhere outside the working text box and clicking back in it reverts the input to Latin alphabets). I thought perhaps that the "Automatic reordering" option (not knowing what it really is) had something to do with it, but ticking/unticking "Automatic reordering" does not change the said behavior. I wonder if this is the intended behavior (or at least if this is how ibus-hangul 1.5.0-1 is designed to work, perhaps unitentionally) or if ibus-hangul 1.5.0-1 is not working as it should on my computer. I am not necessarily trying to change the behavior; I wonder which is the case. Thus, I am not sure whether providing the following would be meaningful, but I am using Ubuntu 15.04 with Cinnamon desktop environment. Thank you in advance.
