If you have a bug you don't need a question too

Oops, I'm first time trying to use launchpad bug tracker and answers platform.

Additional comment:

There is a PPA with i2pd version 2.18.0 for all currently supported Ubuntu releases

I know that, because I'm maintainer of that PPA. Currently question about mainline package in ubuntu repos.

Oops, I have to apologize that I didn't check the creator of the packages in the PPA.

Back to the facts:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BionicBeaver/ReleaseSchedule shows that most of the "Freeze" dates are already passed. So I assume that it is already too late for i2pd version 2.18.0 in bionic. You could try to get a freeze exception, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FreezeExceptionProcess but I do not think that this will be successful.

If the new version brings important improvements (e.g. with respect to security), then you might succeed with a SRU request - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates

Another option is waiting for development start for the c-release, getting the new version uploaded there and then requesting a backport to bionic (and maybe xenial and eventually even trusty), see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBackports

We will soon release new version cause of stability, security and usage issues, so I hope that our maintainer in debian help us to make SRU request.

For completeness' sake, because I forgot to mention:

SRUs con only be done when the release is already published, for bionic there are still two weeks to go.
