If you download the .run file from the HP website, mark it as executable and run it then it will install the newest HPLIP for you. Ubuntu comes with HPLIP installed by default.
What is the output of:
lsb_release -a; uname -a; apt-cache policy hplip
Thank

That's for Windows. Not Linux. You need the run file.

OK, run:
cd ~/Downloads; chmod +x ./hplip-3.20.6.run; ./hplip-3.20.6.run
This marks it as executable and runs the installer. You may be asked to fulfil deps as the installation run.
You already have 3.20.3 so I doubt 3.20.6 will actually give you anything extra. Up. To you

The Printer HP 2623 is not working on Ubuntu 20.04.1
The old printer a HPF2275 was 15 years old and broke down so I replace it with the HP2623 so when the trouble started.
So ask a question on “ask Ubuntu”#69281 but I did not resolve the problem. I also ask a question of HP (in Australia) the answer ‘we do not any expert in LINUX’.
So I started to investigate problem I have 2 computer running Ubuntu 20.04.1 and on both the printer did not work .
So I remember I have a old computer (which I retired a capable years back) and it was running
Ubuntu 18.04.4 .I run the computer (3) and plug the printer in and IT WORK.
Whats the difference about UBUNTU20.04 and UBUNTU18.04
