card reader not recognised

I have my HP 7310 connected over a network. It prints and scans OK but will not pick up my CF card via HPLIP despite the indicator light on the printer indicating that the card is loaded correctly.

I am running Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex on a Acer Aspire One

What am I not doing?

perhaps you need to reconfigure your printer, run this command in terminal/konsole:
sudo hpsetup

(Type in your password and press enter)
Follow the on-screen instruction afterwards :)
