What the heck did I get myself into? I have no knowledge of this kind of stuff all I want to do is install my printer to my computer and it's so hard! I'm getting frustrated with this. Can anyone give me a simple direction to install this printer in the Ubuntu program? I've tried downloading stuff that I've never know before and finding it really hard to understand these processes that you have to take just to install a simple printer?

Your printer is supported by the hplip drivers so the setup is quite easy:
Open a Terminal window and run the following two commands:

  sudo apt-get install hplip-gui
  sudo hp-setup

Then just follow the instructions.

This can be done without using the command line, too, but as I'm not using English language settings (and you may not using them, too) it's easier to describe it that way.

In Gnome (Ubuntu)
The terminal can be found at Applications menu -> Accessories -> Terminal.
In Xfce (Xubuntu)
The terminal can be found at Applications menu -> System -> Terminal.
In KDE (Kubuntu)
The terminal can be found at KMenu -> System -> Terminal Program (Konsole).

I just purchased a Deskjet F4235 HP All-in-One-Printer today. I want if it's compatible with Linux before I begin to take it out of the box and set it up? I had to return my Kodak Easy Share because it was not compatible with Linux. So if please help me out. Thanks!

Can you help with this problem?
