Did you install HPLIP?

You can install HPLIP along with the GUI with:-
sudo apt-get install hplip-gui

It can then be found in System>Preferences.

I own a cyber cafe and I use Ubuntu 7.10 version of linux my technician just told me that I dont need to use a server edition on my server because there is no server edition for UBUNTU 7.10 but I doubt him. Am asking is there Server edition for Ubuntu 7.10? And if yes is it necessary or can I just configure the desktop edition to server for my cyber cafe. is necessary for small business like a cyber cafe?

The problem still exists (also in lucid).
The above mentioned link has all the instructions but the link to the actual "driver" (zip file) is dead. I found the zip in some download service but I am not sure if it is the same (and if it is secure to install it).
