In short you need 4 commands:

cd $HOME

wget http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/hplip/hplip-3.16.5.run

chmod +x ./hplip-3.16.5.run

./hplip-3.16.5.run

Run it as your user. You will be asked to provide your user password as part of the installation.
