HP m1522nf PC-fax support has been dropped. Why?

I have an HP m1522nf at work. PC-fax has been working with Ubuntu for a while. It was easily configured using the hp-setup utility. I was about to buy the same printer to use at home but now a find that PC-fax functionality has disappeared. Fax support is not included according to [1] even though it is stated that the printer is fully supported and full support should include PC-fax functionality according to [2].

Could you clarify why PC-fax support has been dropped and if it is going to work in the future.
