Updated to 11.10 and lost my HP 2100 Printer

Updated to 11.10 from 11.04 and now my HP Laserjet 2100 printer will not work.
I had this problem when I updated to 11.04 but managed to install a driver from HP. Now to get the driver from HP you need to first download their installer which is not compatible with 11.10. I am Stuck! Can anyone help an experienced user (Silver surfer) with his problem? I can use the terminal if the instructions are typed slowly!!!!

hmmm...did you keep the old driver around when you downloaded it for 11.04?
i have an hp c3180 and didn't have a problem with the driver. i used the same one for 10.04 and 11.10
if you kept it, you might want to try install that again.
