A3 printer not full width or height

Asked by Rich.b

Although the Printer Window is showing the FULL image and is set to portrait 11.7ins x 16.5ins the printer only prints image 8.3ins x11.7ins.

I believe that A3 printing is selected.

Dell 2400 Dimension Ubuntu 11.04

I believe that HPLIP is currently installed (this was done about 3 months ago)

Please HELP

thank you

Can you give the output of:

dpkg -l | grep hplip;lsb_release -a

The make and model of the system is moot, the issue is the printer which you haven't given the model of.....This is possibly the most important piece of information we need and you left it out.

There is a 3.11.7 (slight update) which may help. Are you setting correct settings in the printing app?

Why did you not mention the printer model in your question?

Thank you for very quick response, (No info on printer) put it down to a senior moment ! I have been retired for 6 years....

I an also dyslexic, so I miss out hole words when I am writing, and when I read it back I add them in even though they are not there.... it's not easy...

Do I up date this from Ubuntu download site Synaptic Package Manager.

Thanks

Grab the run file from the HPLIP site, mark it as executable and run it in a terminal as user (not sudo). Hope it helps.

Ah then it will already be installed. AllI can recommend is check printing settings. Also try printing from different apps.

Thank you Andrew most helpful, it did take some time to down load and install but seems to have completed successfully.

Have only had time to try the A3 printer once, but still there are missing parts on the right-hand side and the bottom.

Will look for and check setting again to see if I have missed any thing.

regards
Richard
