HPLIP Print Jobs Do Not Process

Asked by Shinda

It seems that ever since Ubuntu 10.04 randomly broke and had to be reinstalled, I've not been able to process HPLIP print jobs.

The machine I use, is still running Ubuntu 10.04, and I use the GNOME desktop computing environment.

I've uninstalled, and re-installed, HPLIP printer software for an HP device to which the machine I use is connected via 802.11 wireless frequency.

What options are available to ensure that print jobs I initiate, actually process?

Is there an update for HPLIP that needs to be installed? What role does CUPS play in this circumstance?
