install printer

I have a new printer & trying to install it on my computer. I no longer have windows vista on my computer. I have ubuntu & the printer disc says for windows or apple. How do I get it to work?

I have HP 3050. My windows was deleted & have ubuntu which was just downloaded.

You need to install the hplip package from your package manager (software centre/synaptic/apt-get -- whatever you like) -- you do not need the disc.
