Why am I getting cover pages when I print?

Asked by Corinna

I am getting a 'Cover Page' when I print from my HPMini on the Deskjet 4500 series. I've looked at all the settings and I can't figure out how to get it to stop. I never asked it to print cover pages. The cover page includes Job ID, Title (of the file) and Requesting User.

How do I make it stop wasting my ink?!!!

I pasted the command in the command line and nothing.
I used the custom choice and pasted the command line and nothing.

if you press ALT+F2 and type:

terminal

but DON'T press ENTER, do you see a suggestion for a terminal app?

how do you mean "Window for a list"

Corinna (crean-bean) said :

There is a window, and in the window is a command line, and a check box that says run in terminal, and a click box that says Run with file..., and an arrow to click to show a list of known applications (this window is empty), help, cancel, and Run.

The title on the window is Run Application.

Try going to http://localhost:631/printers and checking your settings. Check specifically to make sure you don't have a "Banner Page" set up. You should be able to click on your printer. When it changes page, switch from Administration to Set Printer Options and look under Banner.
Alternatively, with an HP you should have an HP logo in your taskbar. Double click on it to bring up the Device Manager gui. (If not, check under "Applications->Accessories" for the HP Device Manager.) Click on your printer and then go to Print Settings. Under "Miscellaneous" check your Banner settings and maybe the Pretty Print option to see if they help.
