HP F2240 - dirty files

Have printer hp f2240. Installed last up grade & now cannot print.
Error messages
cupudsetbusystate:dirty files.
And 'usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip failed
Followed the message on removing cups & reinstalling.
Removed printer & reinstalled.

lsb_release -a; uname -a; dpkg -l | grep hplip

And grab the latest HPLIP (3.11.3) it may help

Can not run in auto prompt also.

At HP website, dnloaded updated driver.
Says I need an application to execute

What is the name and location of the file (case VERY sensitive for both)? If you give the details, I can give a command to install it

Name hplip-3.113.run When try 2 run get launch application window.
 Ask 2 choose an application. Do not know what U mean by location?

Yes, the file name is their with 3 others.

I believe it was a two fold problem drivers & printer.
Bought new printer so far so good.
