hp laserjet 1018 installation problem

Ubuntu recognizes my HP LaserJet 1018 printer however the driver down load (type d for download) is unsuccessful.
Is there any other way to succeed in installing HP 1018?

Grab the latest HPLIP run file from the HPLIP site and run it in a terminal as user (don't use sudo). This should help some.
