hplip package

hplip did not work anymore after software upgrade

after a regular software update from update manager my hplip driver did not work anymore.
also the hplip panel applet is gone.
this happens the second time.

before software update, I use hplip.3.10.6 package from the hp support webside to support my wireless hp printer.
after software update, I need to reinstall the complete 3.10.6 driver package again

how can I avoid this ?

You can use the HPLIP script from the HPLIP site and install that way, you then do not need the package.

I already use the package from the HPLIP site. the problem is, that the standard software update is destroying the existing hplip installation.
After standard software update, the existing HP PanelApplet is gone and I can not print
